I recently read MoTx's February article about Whyville fashion trends. She is
right. There are a lot of trends, and they go in and out like crazy! In the same sense though, she is wrong.
People
choose these trends because they like them. I got an Elmo because I like it (I
don't wear it anymore, but I did get one).
I eventually wandered to the BBS discussing this article and spotted a comment
by deriko (sorry I'm using your name but, people may find out anyways!) which
went something like, 'People rarely express themselves in their faces on
Whyville.' Um, hi, I do! Actually, it is more of what's inside me. I am just kind
of dark and brooding on the inside. So I choose to show it on the outside in
Whyville so
people can see that this is who I really am.
Unfortunately, this isn't the case
for real life. If I walked around like I do on Whyville, then either (1) My
friends and strangers would laugh at me and tease me forever or (2) Well, same
thing.
I think Whyville would be such a cool place if we all dressed how we feel on the
inside. For instance, if you are hyper, loud and crazy on the inside, dress
wacky and fun on Whyville! It would be really fun.
To sum it up, in Whyville dress how you feel and who you are. If you feel you want to follow the
trend, follow the trend.
(A little word of advice: Sometimes it gets really difficult to keep up with
trends, so keep that in mind.)
