Well, as many people know, no one likes the "goths" or gothics. Well, not no one,
but it sure seems to be true that many people don't like us.
I think lots of people have had bad experiences before, so they think we're ALL evil.
Some people, mostly Catholics, just don't like our religious beliefs, while others find us
interesting or just like anyone else. I don't mean to pick on the Catholic
religion, but lots of people have come to Sector Y (where a lot of us "goths"
hang out) who say they're Catholic, and bug
me or other people about it. I won't be going to Sector Y anymore.... That's
not the reason, though.
But back to what I was saying: I've seen petitions that say "Goths (or gothics)
should be band from Whyville!" or things insisting that Whyville shouldn't allow gothic
face parts anymore, so we can't look gothic. I
haven't seen any petitions like that lately, so either Whyville has not allowed it, or people
have just quit, because I doubt City Hall would ever agree to this.
There's also a part out there -- yargpixie's "Hang the Goths #yargpixie#"
-- I found that offensive. I'm not going
to stop getting any of her parts because of it but, I didn't like it
much. Maybe it could have been just something that came to her head for some
reason, or an inside joke? That I probably will not find out.
Some people think being gothic is bad, while others think it is fine. Whatever you
think is your opinion and it's your choice. I cannot force you to like us, and I
will not try.
But that's what I have to say. Maybe you'll read this message, and maybe not. It
all depends if I did a good enough job, I guess.

Editor's Note: I'm sure Akbar would appreciate hearing about that
"Hang the Goths" part -- he'd never allow a part into Whyville
like that on purpose. That's completely unacceptable!!! It should
offend anybody, goth or otherwise. Whyville is totally against vicious
violence towards others!
