Marriage... license...?

I know people in Whyville who are all in favor of building wedding chapels and all in our town, but think, is that fair? When I think 'chapel', I think about my church, which gets me thinking of Christianity. But a marriage, real or virtual, is certainly not just for Christians. Some people are Jewish, some are Muslim, some are Hindu some Wicca... and there are thousands of other religions, too!

I believe instead we should have a 'marriage license'. And if we want to we can throw our own ceremony.

I believe there should be a few restrictions and rules. I believe you should apply for a wedding license just like you would in real life. I believe we should be able to file for divorce (but it take at least a week or more to 'process your case'). You should be 14 or older, or have parental consent.

LoL, yeah, I've planned it all out. ;-)

As the years go by, Whyville becomes more and more like real life... before you know it we'll have a real-life "Whyville College of Science" or something... which when you think about it, college should come before marriage and a baby in a baby carriage....

I'm concerned that unless we allow kids to have some of these kinds of things in moderation, they will go from sweet innocent couples that feel bored (nothin new, eh?) to that creepy couple in the corner whisperin' dirty words! (Ew! In Whyville???) Who knows? Marriage licenses might help prevent divorce if we make it really realistic and all. I dunno.

Well, anyway, this is Firecat, signing out and going to bed. (Glad to be rid of my endless idea?)
