Dear Whyville Times readers,

I want to thank you for your dedication to the Whyville Times. Editing the paper can be a lonely job sometimes, with Bigfoot off tromping through the Amazon, swimming the Arctic and eating bugs in Australia, and so on, but it's always rewarded when I see the lively BBS postings and excellent Whyville Times submissions.

The other week, we actually got 600 emails to times@whyville.net. WOW! I promise, there were many, many excellent pieces that I just don't get to have the time to post. Thanks for your hard work, everyone!

Who knows, maybe if the Google ads work out, we'll be able to increase the time Whyville can afford to spend on our little publication. One can dream!

There is one thing that you can do to help the Times: Tell your friends about us! Encourage new citizens and old to read the paper, and get involved in the BBS. Help others find out how to submit stories, find those articles tucked away behind the front page, and tell the City Workers what you like most in the Times -- and what you think needs to be added or improved.

We hear a lot about getting more "lighter" topics, which is why this week's double issue includes a number of fashion and music pieces. I hope you enjoy them!

Think that everybody in Whyville who would enjoy the Times already reads it? Actually, even though Whyville's almost doubled in size since last year, *fewer* folks read this week's Times than the paper during the same week last year! So help out the Times -- tell your friends about us!

In other news, the Whyville Crossword is going on strong -- if ever you can't find it on the front page, look in the "Media" section, it should be there. Let us know if you have any comments about that, too!

Happy Mother's Day...
Times Editor
