Since I'm very obsessed over horoscopes and star signs, I thought I'd write up
an article on this subject.
The Zodiac is an imaginary belt in the Celestial Sphere. Its width was originally
settled by the orbits of the 5 original Ancient planets (Mars, Venus,
Mercury, Saturn, and Jupiter) and the Sun and Moon in it. There are 12 signs of
the Zodiac, and all of them have 30 degrees of the vast area. Constellations in
that area are what the symbol of the constellation stands for. They are rumored to have
started way back as in 200 BC.
The day you come into the world signifies what
star sign you belong under. In fact, the very first sign of the Zodiac starts in
March! Here are all the signs of the Zodiac:
Aries the Ram (March 21 - April 20)
Taurus the Bull (April 21 - May 20)
Gemini the Twins (May 21 - June 21)
Cancer the Crab (June 22 - July 22)
Leo the Lion (July 23 - August 22)
Virgo the Virgin (August 23 - September 22)
Libra the Balance (September 23 - October 22)
Scorpio the Scorpion (October 23 - November 21)
Sagittarius the Archer (November 22 - December 20)
Capricorn the Goat (December 21 - January 19)
Aquarius the Water Bearer (January 20 - February 18)
Pisces the Fishes (February 19 - March 20)
Each of the signs covers about a month, and whatever you're born under can
roughly determine your personality. This is where horoscopes come in; they can
tell you how your day can be or sometimes, in books, they can tell you about
yourself! In a book I own, it lists points about your learning habits, your
personality, your love life and how you can even square up in the love
department with others of different signs. Maybe you don't believe in this kind
of stuff, but I know I sure do! ^_^
An exception to these signs and your personality, though, is if you are what the
experts call a 'cuspal' person. This means that you were born on the very last
day or the very first day of your sign. If so, you share the characteristics of
BOTH of the signs that you are close to. For example, my mother is a cuspal Leo,
her birthday being July 23. So she has a personality of both a Leo AND a
Cancer. How fabby is that? =D
Now that you have a brief knowledge of this subject, maybe you'll get into
finding out what your personality is like by using the Zodiac!
