You see a goofy looking cartoon,
moving around on Whyville.
You think, "What a freak"
"What a loser".
That's just me...
so I am a freak, dork, loser.
Who cares.
What you see is what you get.
If you take the time to know me, maybe you will understand.
Understand that I am a good person.
I love to talk and play and do things anyone would.
Maybe if you listened you would understand.
I am me.
Deal with it.

This poem basically shows the point I want to get across. But don't worry, little
ones. There are more words up my sleeve.
I think that segregation on Whyville still exists. I don't see it as much, but it
is still here. I noticed it one day in my favorite chat room (Dr. Leila's).
There was a girl (name withheld) who was teasing the 'noobs'. She told the 'noobs'
to go to the left side of the room and the 'oldbies' to go to the right side of
the room.
This disturbed me. EVERY SINGLE WHYVILLIAN WAS NEW ONCE! We ALL asked for face parts.
We ALL asked for clams. That's just the Whyville life. Sadly, it is.
Why is it so bad to be a 'noob'? So what if they look different. So what if they act
different. Who really cares?
If you care, then you must have been teased when
you were new. Now, you might be thinking, "Hey! I got treated like this, so I will
treat the noobs badly too."
Let's not practice 'an eye for an eye' in Whyville.
I have a theory. Once people become 'oldbies' or 'midbies', they forget their
past life on Whyville. They've entered another stage and decided to pick on
those who are new.
Sure, people can be annoying. But, please, tolerate it. Don't yell. Don't taunt.
Be kind. Please be kind.
Every single Whyvillian is different. There are 'goths', 'punks', 'preps', etc.
Why can't we cherish our variety? We are so lucky to have such a diverse group of
citizens. Why must we tease those who stand out? Why?
I don't seem to understand why people can be cruel to those who are different.
Maybe someone can clear it up for me.
