Yes, finally, it's summer! Yahoo! Everybody rejoice!
Okay, that's over. Now what
do I do? Ah! I'm so bored. I think I'll go to the pool.... No, I've been there
three
times this week already. I know, maybe I'll go out and shoot some hoops? Ooch,
no, it's way too mosquito-y. What can I do? I'M BORED!
How many times has this happened to you? Well, for me it's happened lots of
times. And lots, and
LOTS! Now, if you like to read -- or even if you don't yet -- here's a savior's list for
you. Great books you can read, which are guaranteed to take up a day or two!
--The Immortals series by Tamora Pierce
These are really good. I highly recommend them for people who like fantasy books
that take place in another world.
--The Song of the Lioness series by Tamora Pierce
Same thing; these are the first books she wrote and you may want to read these
first. Though I read The Immortals first and it didn't make a difference.
Whoa. I just confused myself....
--The Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot
If you've seen the movie and thought that was good, you HAVE to read these.
There's five of them and they're a lot more descriptive than the movie, I think.
--The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer
This is kind of a science-fiction-y book. Really good. It's about a clone who's
struggling to survive in a world that wants to kill him -- I definitely rate this
a 10.
Those are NOT all the good books out there, just all the ones I can remember at
the moment. Some other good ones are Once Upon a Marigold, The
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, The Second Summer of the Sisterhood, and
The
Giver and its sequel Gathering Blue.
If you read the Tamora Pierce books I mentioned above and want more, her other
books are The Circle of Magic series, The Circle Opens series, The Protector of
the Small series, and Trickster's Choice.
I rated all of those books a ten. I hope you really like them and it provides
some summer entertainment!
This is monkey459, signing out!
