This week's Times issue includes the top three petitions from Whyville Senate hopefuls. Here are your official candidates!

Read these platforms thoroughly -- you'll be choosing the next Whyville Senator from this group! The Senate Debate will be held in a week or two. Please post your suggested questions for the debate in the BBSes attached to the candidates' platforms, or in this article's BBS.

Don't know what's up with this whole Senate thing? Check out this article to get all the explanations you could want!

(For those folks wondering why hiphop26 isn't in the top 3, she actually posted her platform a whole week early, before it was announced that platforms could be posted. It wouldn't be fair to let her in if she had a whole extra week of signatures! :-) Sorry, hiphop26 -- better luck next time!)

As you probably know, the Whyville Senators OrEoBaBy and Sonner met with City Workers and citizens last week to talk about several topics -- check out the article in this week's paper to learn more. You'll also find another story about the monthly Club Why "Meet the Makers" event, where Whyvillians got to hang out with City Workers and ask them tons of questions!

Most important for us here at the Times, the City Workers ran a few polls at the Senate Meeting that relate to what we publish. Here are some of the results:

  1. the majority of people there read the Times every week
  2. they best like fashion articles, followed by events
  3. they least like our poetry
  4. outside of whyville, they read Teen magazine, Seventeen, video game magazines, and the school newspaper

What do you think of these answers? Should we eliminate the Times poetry? Do you want more fashion articles? Let us know in the BBS below. Thank you!

This week you may catch Times articles in your login page: keep an eye out for them!

Also, Senators will soon be able to (if they can't already, I'm not sure) go through the City Hall poll booth to clear out inappropriate "petitions". Let's hope that helps clear out some of those waste-of-space posts, like "give me clams" and "send me ymail". :-) Senators can also nominate "good citizens" for a Good Citizen award, which City Hall will give out after the end of June. Hopefully they'll get something better than a ball of duct tape! LOL

In the board games rooms, you'll soon be able to see the score all the time -- it's a minor improvement, but Whyville programmers say they'll make it so folks can't walk over the score boxes and block them!

Whyville Factoid of the Day: Seventeen people have made 5% of all the face parts in Whyville; one of them has actually made 760 parts!!

*Whew* That's plenty for me today.
