The heated senator candidate debate took place today! Though I wasn't able to attend the actual debate, I was able to ask two of the candidates some questions afterwards.

I started by asking DivaSis and JoelGC what the most important issue was to them. JoelGC says that we should open the Whyology Center, and DivaSis says we need more Y-mail and Whyville helpers.

The WhyPox epidemic has been around for quite a while. Some people think it should be eliminated because it can be a huge pain for newcomers, while others say it's really educational. I pressed thisissue with the candidates and their answers came out different, yet the same: They both want to keep both sides happy. DivaSis says we should have WhyPox only in winter, and JoelGC says we should vote to keep it or not.

I next brought up face parts and asked what the two thought about the important issues involved. DivaSis said parts should be restocked according to the makers' wishes in case their accounts get hacked, and JoelGC said we should keep on expiring clothes so people will buy Why-Passes to keep Whyville's population growing.

There has also been a string of issues and suggestions that have come up this election that I think are really unnecessary -- ideas such as a friend
locator, or noises to alert you of y-mail. DivaSis's response was that we should have night, day and weather; I was unable to ask JoelGC about this.

I asked them what the biggest problem in Whyville has been in their opinion: JoelGC said that the biggest problem was the house plots, and DivaSis responded by saying there were too many people.

For my final question, I asked the candidates why they wanted to be senators. DivaSis told me that she wanted to make Whyville more enjoyable by helping people out. And JoelGC says, "I always wanted to be something important... I can help Whyville a lot."

Both of these candidates gave great answers to important issues. They may have a few things different, but they have one thing in common -- they both think Deriko is their toughest opponent in this election.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go vote.

Good luck to everyone!
