Too much of the time in Whyville I see discrimination. I report it, but people never seem to care. And I see a lot of harassment, especially towards newbies. The boys do it a lot, but I mainly see girls doing it.

To these girls, I want to say: You are being bullies.

Yes, I said bully. Just because you're not big and strong, and you don't hurt people physically, doesn't mean you don't hurt people emotionally.

There are three main kinds of bullies to look out for in Whyville:

1. The Fashion Police. She/he will judge people on their Whyvillian clothes or look. If they don't like your hair, they will tell you you are something like a "fashion criminal".

What can I do to keep these people away from me and my friends? If you see this happening to anybody, and the person getting harassed isn't doing anything about it, grab a couple of your pals, and go talk with the girl who was being rude. But remember: Peace comes first. Don't try to change things by becoming the bully yourself.

2. The Threatener. She/he wants to hurt you, do something that will make you wish you were never born. These kinds of people are rare, but still, you should keep an open eye out for them.

What can I do to keep these people away from me and my friends? The only thing you truly can do is 911-report them. You should do this right away when you catch them saying something that goes against the rules -- threats count! It doesn't matter if the person is your friend or not. They should know better than to threaten.

3. The "Shy" Girl. This gal is likely to freak you out when nobody is around. She will be all sweet and quiet when her friends are there, and she will be very very very nice to you -- too nice. But then, when none of her friends are around, she will start saying disturbing things, maybe about sex, maybe about who you are (like what street you live on, what your last name is -- never give those things out online!).

What can I do to keep these people away from me and my friends? Report, report, report, report! And don't forget to silence and vaporize and everything else. That's all you CAN do. These people are the worst of them all. The Fashion Police and the Threatener won't do anything to you in real life, but the shy girl is more likely to try. REPORT THIS PERSON RIGHT AWAY! RIGHT RIGHT AWAY!!!! And e-mail City Management if they keep coming around and stalking you or anybody you know. This kind of person shouldn't be here, they should be in rehab!

If you would like to know more about how to keep safe, check the Whyville callbox for help.

Well, now I'm hungry, so I'm gonna go get me some breakfast!

Luv,
Hanni319
