Have you ever wanted to hear music in chat rooms while you're roaming around Whyville? Well, from what I can tell, I think that the city workers are working on it, and even putting music in some chat rooms. Surprising? Yes! Now you can chat, listen to music, and boogie (:D) at the same time.

Today, I ventured out of my comfort zone and went to Sector Y. I was teaching one of my friends about the Disco, and the parties. I clicked on the disco, and all of a sudden a red, white and green sentence appeared on the top of my screen. It said: "Technodrum by Anthony Horne." Then, my browser started to play this really funky music, which by the way was too awesome to be true.

I was confused -- I knew I had I-Tunes (a music playing system) on my computer, but I was certain I never had downloaded a song like this, or even opened up the program. Then, I realized that it wasn't my imagination -- Whyville was playing music!

Sure, I had heard about how people would like to have music in each and every chat room to take chatting to a new level, but never had I thought that they would work on it so soon. Then, since I had finished the first song (since I couldn't stop listening to it), it took me to another song called "Highenergy by Anthony Horne." That one was so much fun to listen to, and then it took me to another song called "Groundzero by Anthony Horne." I think that by now you get the point: the music keeps on going and going with different songs by various artists.

I checked on Google to see if they would have more music by this artist, but I came out with results that didn't include music.

Just drop on by the disco and check out this new feature Whyville has to offer!!

Maybe the city workers are just playing with it to see what the Whyvillians think about it, but I definitely think that if we have this neato moozic playing, that maybe we could also get sponsors by getting them to donate music to the site. Or maybe the city workers are starting to develop a whole new way of chatting?

Enjoy the Moozic!!

This is swmergrl, boogyin' my way out of cyberspace!

Editor's Note: Actually, the music you're hearing is the same stuff that's always playing in the Disco! Sometimes after you leave the Disco, the music keeps playing while you stay in Whyville. Looks like it also works even when you can't actually get inside the Disco!

That said, I'll let you in on a secret: one of the City Workers is working on a pet project, to bring music to Whyville... you might even get to create your own tunes... stick with the Times to learn more, perhaps as early as later this summer!
