Lately you read a lot of articles that will tell you, "Dirty Little Secret, Ti
Amo, and WORK IT are the most popular face parts out there. You should buy
those." But really, they aren't anymore. When I read Tupacbrat's July 4 article
titled "Fashions Sweeping Whyville", I had to disagree. Yes, we all know that if
you want to fit in, you have to buy the popular stuff. But Dirty Little Secret is no
longer popular; in the Trading Post, people will no longer pay hundreds of clams
to get one.
And the Goddess Eyes? I think everybody has (or had at one point) a pair of
these eyes, and it's simply because they're the best eyes out there. But yadda
yadda yadda, that's not what I came to write about.
Simply put, people are extremely closed-minded when it comes to fashion. At the
Trading Post, where I go a lot, the most frequently asked-for parts are: icing,
frosting, Beautiful Annoyance, Meow Mix, Rainbow Randolph (I believe that's
the name) and Scriver. I own Beautiful Annoyance, but that's all. Icing, frosting,
Rainbow Randolph, Meow Mix and Scriver are all very nice, in their own respects,
but I have no wish to become a fashion slave.
I like my hair (drab, with something else on top of it), my shirt (Beautiful
Annoyance), my eyes (Goddess Eyes), and my lips (Glossy Lips w/o Nose). I also
think my nose
(liney nose), flag, necklace, Bad Girl sign, and cancer awareness ribbon all go
nicely with my look. But do you see a lot of people floating around Whyville with
Wisconsin flags? Nope, and that's one reason why I got one. Plus the fact that I'm from
Wisconsin.
Well, that whole ramble was supposed to make a point, and since it wasn't
pointed enough, I'll be blunt now. Do not become a fashion slave like people want you to. Do
not buy something just because someone else has it; buy it because you think it's
adorable or cute or whatever.
