The Newbie Experience
Spazchick goes undercover!

Hey there!

This is spazchick, and I'd like to report on the topic of newbies. I didn't really know how badly newbies were treated until recently.

I made up another name, which is howcute. I was excited, because it's fun to start over and do things differently.

Well, I got to the Square and thought, "Hmm, I have no clams!! I'd better work up my salary so I can buy some good face parts!"

I needed a temporary face, because what I had wasn't working, so I asked to borrow some clams. The response I got was, "EW!! Get away from me," from some popular girl, who went over to talk to some cool guy.

Nobody would even talk to me, so I logged off that name, and back on as spazchick. Then, I had barely arrived and people were talking to me and inviting me to the pool and to the Sportplatz for a game of frisbee. Someone even offered to loan me clams!! But, I didn't need any, because of my salary.

I've also observed how other newbies are treated, because I've been paying more attention lately.

Today (9/18/00), creepy was at the Square and nobody would listen to him. He asked for clams over and over, from what I heard, because he needed hair. It seemed like nobody cared, so I went ahead and gave him some clams. "How could people be so rude?" I thought.

Well, that's all for now! I will be writing another article with Coley soon, and it will be about her experiences and the only friend that helped her.

Well, in the meantime, keep your eyes out for newbies, and help them!!

Until next time, this is spazchick signing off!

p.s. I know this was a short article, but you get the idea right? Coley and I will clear up the rest of your questions next time....
