I know that a lot of new citizens are currently joining Whyville. Most
of the new citizens have no clue what to do in a situation where
somebody asks for their password, address, phone number, real name, and
other harmful things, and I want to help. This is hottiemb, with the
latest news on the 911 Report Tool.
There are three easy ways to 911 Report someone in a bad situation.
If you are chatting with somebody in a chat room and they ask or say
something harmful to you, you should double-click on their head and
select the "911 Report" option. Then, type in the reason you're
reporting them. Be sure you do this right after the event -- reporting
an hour later usually doesn't help anybody!
If a citizen sends you a threatening Y-mail, you can always click on
the
call box (it looks like a red payphone) to report the message. After
you report the message, it will also automatically be deleted.
If you suspect that a citizen has hacked you, they left the chat room
before you could report them, or you forgot to report them when the
problem occurred, all you have to do is go to the original call box.
It's located above your bus on the left. If you're reporting late,
you'd better have a good explanation for the City Workers, because
without proof it's hard for them to take action. It's like if you told
the police that something happened, but you didn't have any proof.
The 911 Report Tool is very serious. If you report somebody for
something you shouldn't have (like because they called you stupid or
because you don't like them), your plan to get them in trouble will
backfire and you'll be the one who gets punished. The 911 Report Tool
is for emergencies and serious situations only. For more information,
you can go to the call
box, which is above your bus, and it will tell you everything you need
to know.
Well, I've got to go.
This is hottiemb signing off....
