Have you
heard the word Disney before? Chances are you have, because The Walt Disney
Company is a very famous company, perhaps the most famous in the world. But you
probably haven't heard this about Disney....
Chances are that you, the
reader, have watched The Disney Channel or the Family Channel, which both air Disney programming. The thing most
people don't know about current Disney shows is that virtually all of them
will ONLY have 65 episodes.
Sad but true. Shows that people are fighting
for, in order to pass the 65-episode limit, include Kim Possible, Lilo
& Stitch, The Proud Family,
Dave The Barbarian, That's So Raven, Fillmore, and I think
Teamo Supreamo. Some
shows that ended and "died" from the 65 episode limit include Lizzie McGuire and
Even Stevens.
Together we can help save our favorite Disney shows from
cancellation. I personally have signed petitions and such for Kim Possible
to
help save it and even joined the official "Save Kim Possible" group, Mission Kim Possible.
What can you do to save your favorite Disney show from cancellation?
OPTIONS:
1. Join a Yahoo and/or MSN group focused on saving that show, and work with the
members to do all you can!
2. Sign petitions to save your show.
3. Write a letter to Disney and/or the creators.
4. If opportunities ever come to be a Disney star or work for Disney, tell them
in person what you think, and say that many other fans feel that the 65-episode rule
should be eliminated (gotten rid of).
5. Visit various "Save (your show's name here)" sites for other options.
How did I find out about the 65-episode rule?
As a Kim Possible fan (which I became in 2002), I started going on sites
focused on Kim Possible and I noticed that there were many people talking
about about 65-episode limits.
How did I become a KP (Kim Possible) fan?
Back in the summer of 2002, I (barely knowing what it was) first watched Kim
Possible on ABC Kids.
Then I started watching it at my Nana's on the Family Channel. Seeing various ads in my magazines
helped me learn a lot more about KP,
and by the summer of 2003 I was hooked and a mega-fan. I then learned that this
show wasn't perfect and that KP would end sooner than I thought.
Well that's my story about the Disney episode limit, from what I've heard and
read. Here are some sites for
