"Poser" may be one of the worst names to be called. Witch, evil, ugly... those you can deal with. But poser is one that nobody likes to be called.

So why do we use it on others? Is it because we are unsure inside ourselves? Do we just like making fun of people?

Well, I don't believe in things like posers. I'll tell you why you shouldn't either.

The first question we need to answer is, why we do it? First think -- would you like to be called a poser? I highly doubt it. And if you're reading this article right now and saying yes, you would, then you are probably not facing facts. You're trying to be funny, and that's okay, but it's not reality.

Don't call people posers, because you know you wouldn't like it, and they don't either.

The second question is, why do people even think that there ARE posers? All people are just trying to be themselves. When people tell you what you can and cannot do, call you a poser, and say mean things, they only lowers your self-esteem, since it's like telling you that you aren't good enough for this place. It's just not right, or nice.

I have had personal experience with this, and it's not fun. Being called a poser, being told that who I am isn't right, being told I have to change to be liked (and isn't that pushing me to "pose" in another way???), it really lowered my self-esteem. I fell into depression, like a lot of other kids do. Only when I realized that I was being myself and that everyone else was, too, was when I came out of depression.

You know, people hurt themselves, even kill themselves, because they are depressed. Would you like to be the reason for their death? I know it may seem a little extravagant, but it can definitely come true. Don't risk it.

Please, think before you say things. Calling people names wont make anything better. If I have gotten anything through at all, I hope it's that posers aren't real. Everyone is just himself or herself, and that is all.

Have fun being who you are!

Much love,
Krikie
