Hello Whyville! This is FairyKiya, reporting to you from the Senate
Debate, that happened this Saturday!
When I arrived, everyone was anxiously waiting for the arrival of the
city
workers. Come 7:00, they were nowhere in sight! People were growing
impatient, as they tried to entertain themselves for the time being.
Finally at 7:07 City Hall appeared.
The debate was between Suga246, Softbll12 and Soccer678.
Once City Hall got the podiums to appear, she then went over the order
of the debate. First were the opening statements. Secondly, City Hall
would ask
questions about their platforms one by one, then the candidates would
be able to ask
one of the other candidates a question, and finally, the audience gets
to ask
questions! Lastly, they each get to make a closing statement. The
estimated time of the debate was one hour.
The first opening statement came from Softbll12, then
Soccer678, and last but not least, suga246, standing in as xbLeAcHx.
Then the first question was for soccer678. City Hall asked her about
when she said in her platform we should give small salaries to newbies.
She suggested that only a few clams might keep people from making new
accounts to get cheap clams.
Next, City Hall asked
Softbll12 about what she wants to do with the plots. She wanted to make
a poll about it first. Suga246 was then asked about why she was taped
on her
main account. She said she didn't care that that account was taped
because
she still feels like she is a good person.
The next question was for
softbll2... City Hall asked, now that Why Pox is gone, should we bring
it back so the game is playable again? Softbll12 said that it is
educational and she would like to bring it back in a few weeks or so.
But
when people have it, it would only be for two days, she suggested.
Claps!
Then City Hall asked Suga246 another question: What would
encourage citizens to report misbehavior? She said that maybe for every
good report of yours, a face part of yours doesn't expire or you'd get
a WhyPass for a day or
two to get in when Whyville's busy.
Next Soccer678. City Hall said that in her platform she suggested that
we make more chats, games, etc. City Hall asked how she proposes to
make this happen,
because it all requires more money. Soccer678 said we should delete
some of the chat
rooms that no one really uses. Much of the audience disagreed, while
others said it was a good idea.
Now Suga246 got to ask another person a question. She asked Soccer how
she
proposed to make Club Y better. Soccer678 replied that she would want
to
make more links so it's more fun.
Then softbll12 asked Suga246 about her idea for a
library, asking if it would be like another Whyville Times. Suga said
it
would involve more things, like people could write small novels to
practice being an author.
Lastly, Soccer asked Suga what the key idea of her platform was. She
said it is having an advice column in the Times.
Finally, the audience got to ask questions.
The audience asked some tough questions, so read them in the transcript
once it's up! But we had to move onto
the closing statements.
Suga246 said to vote for whoever has the best idea not
the best looks.
Soccer678 said to vote for her because she thinks she has
great ideas.
Softbll12 said to vote for whomever you think has the best
platform.
