Away in the country, the nights were so still,
except for the wind, which had its own will.

It'd ripple the tall grass that grew all around,
just to hear itself make the sweet rustling sound.

Way up high, the stars danced to the tune,
twinkling and sparkling next to the moon.

The man in the moon had a smile so bright,
it, itself, seemed to illuminate the night.

It made the night flowers blush with delight,
just to be part of the wondrous sight.

Hundreds of fireflies clamored about,
while the insects chimed in, without a doubt.

Out in the country, I love the long nights,
but the sun brings to me my country daylight.
