I took the time to count all the issues that the Times has ever published and found out that there
are 224... so that means that this issue is the 225th issue of the Times!
You know what that means...
1. That is a lot and a lot of
issues!!!
2. It's the silver anniversary for the Times.
3. The Times Editor has read thousands and thousands (maybe even millions) of our articles.
So, Times Editor, this article is for you.
You have helped us so many
times by correcting our mistakes in the paper. By now you must
know every grammar and spelling rule there is.
You always give nice remarks
in mostly every issue.
And your remarks always end in
a smile. :-)
You have always put out an
issue every week, or if not every week, a double issue with twice the
work and compassion.
You constantly remind us of
the "Whyville Way," which reminds us all to be kind and help others.
You've made so many
Whyvillians lives better, just enriching our lives with the gift of
reading.
You always tell us what's
happening in Whyville and you give us the inside scoop on what's going
to happen.
So thank you, Times
Editor!!! From all the citizens of Whyville, we just love you!!!
There's one more thing
though...
It seems we don't know too too
much about you... So if you will please answer these questions. We want
to know more about you!!!
Dancer153:
Just about how old are you?
Times
Editor: I just turned
27. Ancient, I know!
Dancer153:
How long have you had this
job? Or have you had it forever?
Times
Editor: Hehe, I'm not
*that* old... I've been working for Whyville since just a few months
before the first issue of the Whyville Times first came out, with a
small break. That totals almost five years!
Dancer153:
Were you good in grammar and
spelling in school, because you sure know how to fix our mistakes!!!
Times
Editor: Since I was a
kid, I've been good at writing and English in general... but I was also
always good at math and science. I took my natural talent and worked
extra hard -- it always seemed natural to me that you do your best,
whatever you have to do or choose to do. :)
Dancer153:
Last question. When you were
little did you ever think you'd have this job?
Times
Editor: Well, I always
hoped I'd find something that would let me use my loves of science and
language at the same time... that's why working for Whyville rocks!
Thank you for your time, Times
Editor. I just hope you know how much we appreciate you!!!
