A throbbing head,
A stomach ache,
Two tests I did not want to take,
This plan seemed so witty and sly,
First past my mom, then the day goes by.
No going to school, just playing sick.
This was cetainly one sneaky trick!
I trusted my luck as my mom entered my room,
"Mom, I'm sick," I said in a boom.
She leaned over to feel my head,
Oh great! Now I'm dead!
My heart pounding, I stared into the yard.
I passed the test! That wasn't so hard.
Just one more thing I needed to do,
Have a temperature of 102!
My mom turned and left, Now! Here's my break.
I drank a glass of hot water, think man think!
I rushed to my bed with little scurrying feet,
My mom came in, I felt so cheap.
My mom stuck the thermometer right in my mouth,
I held my breath until she took it out.
I opened one eye and looked at her face,
"You don't have a temperature," she said with grace.
So I was sent to school to take my tests.
My plan wasn't that great, it wasn't the best.
I never tried pulling that one again,
You need to stay in school and be a friend!
