I recently came across an interesting article called "Changes" in the WhyHistory section of the Times archives (click Search at the top of the front page). In the article, actingup9 interviewed Amanda, Giggler01 (before she was Senator), bbdd and kc12, and each person talked about how Whyville had changed through the years.

Most of the people interviewed said that what they missed the most from the "olden days" was the way people were treated. Amanda (who has been a member since 1999!!) said no one treated others badly and there were only designated topics they could talk about in designated room at designated times.

I thought, wouldn't that be awesome if we could just experience one week like that? One week with regular face parts banned -- we could only use parts that were available in the year 1999 and maybe 2000. Everybody would only talk about music, or the weather or whatever, and nobody could criticize each other because it wouldn't be allowed. And there would be nothing to criticise because as Amanda said in the article, everybody looked like one another!!!

City Hall has thought about having a "Newbie Day" where everyone was just a tater head. Newbie Days do occasionally happen when the server goes down, but that's not what I'm thinking about here.

Maybe this isn't a great idea because now there are so many more people, but I'd like it if we could have more than one room with specific topics for chatting. It could be "1999 week" or "Past week" or whatever. The City Workers are much more creative than I. ;-)

Think about it. Sometimes to see the future, we must see the past. (I'm not good at writing something serious. :-)

Post your ideas in the BBS. You never know when something might happen.
