How many of you have ever been to the WhyHouse? Seen those stairs
that go up and up? And have you ever wondered what they were? Well,
you're about to
find out.
One day, I was browsing through the Whyville Times Gallery. I was
looking for issues about Halloween, and that's not all that I found. I
also came across an article that explained of one of
Whyville's biggest mysteries: the Whyville Dimension.
A discovery of some sorts went about when our ever-so-famous City
Hall decided to build a house for City Workers to chill in. She started
work on the house/lounge with a very good team
of construction workers. The house had a kitchen, a few other rooms and
steps. The steps are our main focus now.
City Hall decided that she wants someone to test out what the house was
like, so she picked out a city worker. Apparently, this city
worker had a thing for creepiness... maybe that's why no one knew his
name.
He stayed a night in the house. In the middle of the night, he
awoke. He couldn't find out why. Was it the dripping water? Owls
hooting in
the Whyville forest? Or was it some strange force of ghosts?
Well, anyway, he went and got a drink of water, stepping in a puddle of
ice-cold water. Then, he began walking up the steps... one,
two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine...
...and as he walked, the water from his foot dripped and then... out of
nowhere, he disappeared.
"How?" some may ask, "Why?" and "Wow!"
When City Hall checked on the house in the morning, she found our
main character's sleeping bag, the puddle of water -- oh, darn, she
didn't
tell him about the leaky pipes. She went to build more pipes, and
the water on the steps made her slip -- wait, water on the
steps? And funny, the puddles are shaped just like...
Where is our mystery man? Did he run out to the forest, scared to
death... or did he get locked in a Whyvillian's worst nightmare???
It's up to you to decide!
This has been a case of "The Whyville Dimension." Look for more of this
mysterious case (and others) later...
