It's fun to play with. It is gross and gooey. It's the one, the only SLIME!

Sounds gross at first, sure, but when you start expanding its flexible body, you'll find how much fun it is to play around and experiment with. If you want to mess with anything you can touch like I like to, then I have the formula for you! Slime!

Slime is very fun and easy to make with these ingredients. Just make sure you get your parents' permission, and maybe their help, before you start making something so messy. And remember, I found this recipe in a book, where it warned: Do not eat. May stain clothes, carpet and furniture!

  • 4 ounces of school glue
  • 1 cup of water with few drops of liquid food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon of Borax
Here are the utensils you will need:
  • 2 medium bowls
  • 1 half cup
In a bowl stir together glue and 1/2 cup of water. Add food coloring.

In another bowl, stir together the remaining of 1/2 cup of water and borax.

Stir the borax mixture into glue mixture. You should have a thick mass in a liquid. When the Slime has formed into a solid mass, pour off the remaining liquid and discard it. Slime thickens when you knead, stretch, and play with it.

I hope you like your slime! Stay tuned for more silly ideas!

Editor's Note: By the way, I found this recipe for goo in several places on the internet, including in a "supplement" for leaders of Brownie troops! :-)

Now here's my question for you to think about: What's up with the goo? Why do these ingredients do what they do when you put them together?
