The Times Editor recently asked for articles about "something uniquely Whyville that hasn't been mentioned in the Times." That got me thinking quick.

Aliens? No, already done. Anything new about that? Not really.

What about fried fish? Yum, delicious, but no.

I know! Clubs!

What do I mean by "clubs"? No, no, not the clubs on playing cards, and not the clubs in golf, or the clubs that cavemen used. I mean the clubs around Whyville!

When you come to think of it, there are really more clubs on Whyville than you might have imagined before. Here is my list of three clubs I know best in Whyville, and how to join:

B.L.O.B.Y.
(Bearded Ladies Organization for a Better whYville)
BLOBY was formed quite a few months ago by penny305. Members of BLOBY wear beards to promote the fact that beauty is not only skin-deep. Babypowdr was actually the first public bearded lady in Whyville -- you can see her article in the March 20 issue of the Whyville Times. If you want to join BLOBY, contact penny305.

B.E.N.E.F.I.T.
(Boys and girls Eliminating Newbie discrimination and Encouraging Friendships In our wonderful Town)
BENEFIT was formed a few months ago by DiGsTeR02. Members of BENEFIT wear the official BENEFIT sign to all their meetings where they talk about ways to improve newbie treatment and friendships in Whyville. To join BENEFIT, contact DiGsTeR02.

H.O.R.O.
(Honoring Others, Respecting Others)
HORO was formed not too long ago by FairyKiya and softbll12. Members of HORO dress unfashionably to show that even rich people care about others' feelings. If you want to join HORO, contact FairyKiya or softbll12.

Also, there used to be a club that called itself "Guardian Angels" that was formed by 00shaft. I don't know much about the GAs, and I'm not even sure if they still exist! I haven't been able to contact 00shaft about that yet, but I'll keep you posted with the latest info in the BBS. ;)

Well, I got as many as I could. If I missed a club, please have the people who made it post their info about it in the BBS. Want to start a club? It's up to you! Gather some friends, plan some meetings, make face parts if you want and try to make sure people know what you're doing.

This is FireBeam, off to get his pen/mouse back!
