Before you start, realize the possible consequences of smoking. What do Paris Hilton, Drew Barrymore, Britney Spears, Ashton Kutcher and Uma Thurman all have in common?? They all have a horrible habit... smoking.

Even if you do think it's really cool now and all the "popular" people do it, think about 20 years from now. What would you think about smoking if you were diagnosed with lung cancer?

Yeah, but "everyone does it," right?

I don't see why anybody would would want to be "everyone" if cancer, emphysema and all those other diseases are the result. Some of those people are desperately trying to stop, and wishing they were smart enough to never have started.

Smokers have 10 times the risk of getting lung cancer compared to non-smokers and twice the risk of dying from heart disease. Smoking can trigger cancer of the mouth, throat, esophagus, pancreas and kidney and many other kinds. Smoking interferes with the healing of wounds and fractures. It also increases facial wrinkling, which makes a person look older and a lot less attractive.

My advice to you -- Don't be everyone. Be known for being you. The one who didn't give in to the peer pressure and who probably will be much happier and healthier than the ones who smoke.
