Being the Whyville nerd that I am, I was looking through the archives (and for
the record, all articles by previous Senator Sonner) and I came across an intriguing
article... an article about a town hall meeting. At first, I just brushed it
off, considering it to be just one of those Greek Theater things, but as I looked
closer, I realized that it was a LIVE meeting.
*gasps*
Yes, around the start of 2002, there was a live meeting! If there have been
any others, I don't know, but this particular meeting was in Regina, Canada.
City Worker (and Whyville Founder!) superid was there, and City Worker jen was
also there by video linkup.
I think there should be another one of those. Maybe not this year, not next
year, not even 10 years time (although possibly).
(Although I live in jolly ol' England and wouldn't be able to come, LOL!)
Thinking (surprisingly),
Cobd
Editor's Note: Yup, Whyville's Founder and one of our leading City Workers attended a real-life town hall meeting in Regina when we were invited there by a local school, as I recall. We also had folks go to a town hall meeting in North Carolina, I think. UPDATE: I have been corrected by a citizen in the BBS. I believe it was in Virginia now.
If your school is interested in having Whyville's creators come and speak -- we have expertise in all kinds of education strategies and use of technology -- have them email info@whyville.net.
