One day, as I sat on my chair in front of my computer waiting for more ideas
for my school essay,.I began to log in to Whyville. As I did, it occurred to
me --a weird idea that I would never have thought of... it was really kind of
strange, but cool at the same time.
A Whyville school!
I started thinking about it. I mean, what would a school like that be? People
don't want to come home from their normal school just to go to Whyville school!
When I was finished with Whyville and my essay that evening, I pondered again
about my school idea. It doesn't have to be your average school. It doesn't
have to have to have math, English, social studies, science, reading, etc. It
can have Whyville-related classes, like face part design, Spanish, French, beauty,
house-building, how to get your Times article published, clam management, clubs,
cheer squads, drama club, teams and fun things like that. There can be homework
help, too!
I can't start this school without help, though. I need teachers and students,
substitute teachers, coaches, tutors, and I wouldn't even mind some organizational
assistance!
Also, don't forget I am a Club Why member, which means that I can schedule
parties at the Disco for school members.
To join, please Y-mail Icestar9 with your choice -- to teach or attend or both,
or coach or whatever else you might want to do. Describe the classes you'd like
in your ymail, too. I hope to hear from you soon!
Icestar9... signing off and asking you to please whymail me your thoughts about
this school!
p.s. When the spots are full, I will have a school orientation and send out
a class schedule. And if you have any ideas about things like clubs or something
like that, ymail me your thoughts. I hope to take about 60 to 200 students!
(If I can get that many, of course.)
Editor's Note: Whew! I think it would be great if you could
just accomplish such a fun idea with 10 or 20 students -- let us know how it
goes, okay Icestar?
