When you look around Whyville, what do you see? There are a lot of events and
unusual people, but I
found something very new when looking around recently: Citizens are going bald!
Why is this happening? These bald Whyvillians have joined the Cancer Victim Support
Association, a group organized to show Whyville's support
of the victims of cancer everywhere.
If you would like to support the fight against cancer in some way in Whyville,
try wearing some of these face parts:
Ribbons:
Breast Cancer Awareness
BREAST CANCER RIBBON
Purple Cancer Awareness Ribbon
Sheer & Gold Lung Cancer Ribbon
Cancer Awareness +EvErLaSt+
Signs:
CancerVictimSupportAssoc.*dig*
Wear Yellow! ~Livestrong~
Live Strong
Wrist Bands:
~*~Wear Yellow~*~
LIVE STRONG - Wear Yellow
LIVE STRONG bracelet/arm
~Live Strong Bracelet~
LiveStrong For Whatever Hand
T-Shirt(s):
LIVE STRONG Cancer Awareness T-S
By wearing these face parts, you are sending a good message. You are supporting
getting rid of cancer.
Some other things you can do to help are:
On Whyville: Go bald. (This is NOT a face part.) Not only does it show
that you support fighting cancer and help people feel better if they have it, but it also
shows that you don't care about what you look like, as long as you are helping a good
cause in some way.
Off Whyville: Go to http://www.wearyellow.com and buy a Lance Armstrong
Live Strong bracelet. When you buy these wrist bands for a small dollar each, you
are actually giving money to cancer research. Just think, someday everyone
could buy a wrist band and cancer researchers will actually find a cure for these
deadly diseases. Every dollar counts.
Thanks to DiGsTeR02 and Coconut02 for getting me involved!

Editor's Note: Great article, snikers00! For those of you who want to
get a Live Strong bracelet in real life, be sure you're purchasing the real
thing. I saw on the news that some really awful people are selling bracelets
without sending money to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Those people are profiting
off of others' good hearts! So make sure that it's a reputable shop you're
buying your bracelets from -- if you're not sure, go to the website snikers00
mentioned, where you can be certain you're getting the real thing.
