It's almost the time,
For the brand new New Year.
But first what we need,
Is some Hanukkah cheer!
Get out the Tupperware,
It's time for a bake,
Challah, Rugalach,
And Potato Latke!
Soon we shall gather,
Around the shining menorah.
Baruch Atah Adonai,
Let's go dance the horah!
The last night is here,
Our holiday's almost done.
All our families together,
Hanukkah sure was FUN!!
Happy holidays, ya'll!!
Author's Note: A common mistake is the use of the term "menorah." The menorah is
actually used only on Shabbat, the Jewish Sabbath day and has seven candle
holders. On Hanukkah, a hanukkiah is used and has nine candle holders. Why is
the term used in my poem? Well, it rhymes, doesn't it?
