Hello my fellow Whyvillians, Biddygurl here and I'm running for senator. I
have a few new ideas I'd like to bring up before the end of the senate race,
so when the City Workers gave me the option to write a new platform I of course
wanted to.
- I would like to start a bank, I realize I didn't put this in my original
platform, but I wanted to have something new and interesting
when I sent in my second one. A bank would teach Whyvillians about money, and
it would be helpful in the even that someone gets a hold of your password, there
would be a different way to access the bank, like another password, or a couple
of questions to make sure you really are the owner of that account, so that
way, if an account is broken into, you can come back and at least have a little
bit of clams left.
- I think that we should have more contests, like when we had the pet Adobe
picture contest, it would the citizens a little more involved and I think it
would be a fun thing to do.
- Personally, I think Whyville should get a new game, not like Gettysetts,
but something where the citizens could earn instant clams, like the treasure
hunt game where after you found all of the coins you can exchange them at the
Coin Exchange, newbies may get discouraged if they can't get a hold of enough
clams to buy a head for a week, so I think we should get another of those type
of games up and running.
- I personally think that accounts which haven't been used in ages should be
deleted, but there should be a sort of process to it, the accounts that should
be deleted should be the ones from years ago where the person has only logged
on a few times, that way it would be very unlikely to recycle an active name,
because we don't want people impersonating us when we quit do we?
- I also think it would be great if we had a friend locator, not like to tell
you where they are exactly, because sometimes people just don't want to be found,
but something to tell you if your friends are online or not, or if they've logged
off and you're trying in vain to get a hold of them. This would be extremely
helpful.
- I remember when you could eat food by saying, "eat (whatever food)"
but I'm not sure if we should bring that back because it might over task the
servers. I think that it should possibly be a Whypass holders thing. I think
this just because Whyville needs money to run and pay their bills, so it would
help keep Whyville running.
- I too have visited the Newbie Center on many occasions and have seen the need
for a BBS, or at least a mailbox so that when a Y-mail Helper goes into the
Newbie Center they can check and answer questions to give back to the people
who want answers.
- There has been talk of a newbie pack, but I don't think that should happen.
It's nice for the people that are actually newbies, but it
gets me to wonder, what if a person makes a new account to get the newbie pack?
Believe it or not, it happens. What I propose instead is when a person joins
Whyville in the "Welcome to Whyville" mail there should be a list
of people to contact for a tutor, much like Hotboi764's Adopt a Newbie program.
The difference between our ideas is that I think people should have to apeopley
to help the newbies, and not have to be a Y-Mail helper, seeing as Y-Mail helpers
are kept busy with helping people needing their questions answered.
- I know that Club Why is a much talked about subject and there are many debates
on whether or not we should lower or raise the prices. What I think is that
we could have different levels of Club Why membership, such as paying less clams
for a lesser amount of privileges, but upgrades would have to be made available
to those with a lesser amount of privileges because otherwise they would have
to pay more than what they would have to if they paid all at once. In doing
so we could both lower and raise the prices of Club Why and everyone would be
happy.
- As for plots, I think that they should be deleted, regardless of possible
extended spending on bricks, paint, or furniture. These things could possibly
be reimbursed, but I was thinking that with the extra space on the server left
from the plots, land office, brick emporium, and furniture farm could be used
to add onto the Mall that has taken quite a while to get running.
Now, I know none of these things can truly be promised, but I want you all
to see what I would do if I could promise these things. Good luck to my opponents,
and Happy Holidays to everyone.

Hello Whyville, this is Biddygurl and I would like to be
your senator. I know that this is a big job, but I feel that I'm the right
person for it. Seeing as I spend a lot of time on this site, I've grown to know
my way around it. Enough with the jib jab, I'd like to get down to the real
issues. 1) I remember when you could eat food by saying, 'eat (whatever food)'
but I'm not sure if we should bring that back because it might over task the
servers. I think that it should possibly be a Whypass holders thing. I think
this just because Whyville needs money to run and pay their bills, so it would
help keep Whyville running. 2) I too have visited the newbie center on many
occasions and have seen the need for a BBS, or at least a mailbox so that when a
Ymail Helper goes to the Newbie Center they can check and answer questions to
give back to the people who want answers. 3) There has been talk of a newbie
pack, but I don't think that should happen. It's nice for the people that are
actually newbies, but it gets me to wonder, what if a person makes a new account
to get the newbie pack? Believe it or not, it happens. What I propose instead is
when a person joins Whyville in the 'Welcome to Whyville' mail there should be a
list of people to contact for a tutor, much like Hotboi764's Adopt a Newbie
program. The difference between our ideas is that I think people should have to
apply to help the newbies, and not have to be a Ymail helper seeing as Ymail
helpers are kept busy with helping people needing their questions answered. 4) I
know that Club Why is a much talked about subject and there are many debates on
whether or not we should lower or raise the prices. What I think is that we
could have different levels of Club Why membership, such as paying less clams
for a lesser amount of privileges, but upgrades would have to be made available
to those with a lesser amount of privileges because otherwise they would have to
pay more than what they would have to if they paid all at once. In doing so we
could both lower and raise the prices of Club Why and everyone would be happy.
5) As for plots, I think that they should be deleted, regardless of possible
extended spending on bricks, paint, or furniture. These things could possibly be
reimbursed, but I was thinking that with the extra space on the server left from
the plots, land office, brick emporium, and furniture farm could be used to add
onto the Mall that has taken quite a while to get running. Now I know that I
cannot truly promise any of you these ideas will happen, but the best I or any
possible senator can do is suggest them and hope for the best. Thank you for
your time, I appreciate it. =) ~Biddygurl
