The flag! The flag!
What flag, you may ask -- what in heaven's name is she talking about?? Why,
the flag on the moon, silly!
For any of you who haven't noticed, the American flag on the moon indeed appears
to be floating away. AnG3lCaT wrote about this earlier in her article titled
"Our Flag's Floating Away!", but City Hall does not appear to have
responded. I know that many of you non-Americans are jumping for joy, but let's
look at the facts, and why the American flag has a right to be on the "moon"
in Whyville.
I'm sure you have all heard about Neil Armstrong, right? No?! Well, he was
the first man to ever walk on the moon. And yes, he was American. On July 20,
1969, Neil Armstrong took a step out of the Apollo 11 lunar lander onto the
moon. In the most famous part of his speech, he said, "That's one small
step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
Since Neil Armstrong was American and was the first man EVER to walk on the
moon, I think an American flag deserves to be on our moon in Whyville, especially
since Neil Armstrong put an American flag on the moon when he landed on it,
as did all the American astronauts who followed him.
Not enough to persuade you? Well, I don't know what will. I hope that City
Hall will take the time to fix this problem and make sure our American flag
stays in one piece.

Editor's Note: Don't worry, I don't believe the flag on Whyville's
moon has moved an inch since it was placed there... anybody have any evidence
to the contrary? :-)
