Hello, this is FairyKiya reporting to you from Club Why! It's the first Tuesday
of the month, and you know what that means: City Workers coming to talk to us
Whyvillians at "Meet the Makers"!
Club Why was packed, and everyone anxiously awaited the arrival of the City
Workers. It was hard, but I got some good pictures of the place... unfortunately, they didn't come through in my email to the Times! Ah, well.
When City Worker ScyllaCat arrived, everyone was excited. They quickly crowded
around him and bombarded him with questions!
Second to come was City Worker Bigfoot. Many people asked him about the friend
finder and Why-Passes perks. As I heard, seating on the grass in the Greek Theater
may be the next Why-Pass perk. The friend finder is also said to be a top priority
on the City Workers' list.
Third to arrive was City Hall herself. People asked her about Why Hats mostly,
from what I saw. (Note from Bigfoot: I also saw her
answering questions about password security, and she reminded me that the Veteran
Medal given out in March to citizens who have been on Whyville for 4+ years
is animated, and so it can only go to folks with Why-Passes.)
The City Workers were also making it clear that Whyville does not give viruses!
Apparently a lot of people thought that it did, perhaps because some security
programs warn you whenever a website puts a cookie on your computer -- and Whyville's
cookies are totally safe.
Fortunately, there wasn't much bad talk about senate candidates. Speaking of
senate candidates, I think all three attended!
For quite a while there was talk about medals, who gets them and why. Basically
what CW Bigfoot said is that if your account has been registered for a year
come March, you get a bronze medal; if for two years, you get silver; three
years nets gold; and people who have been around for 4 years or more (and has
a lifetime Why-Pass), get an animated gold medal. Bigfoot was showing his off
and a lot of people seemed eager to get one!
Sadly, at 7:30 or so the last city worker to leave, Bigfoot, was saying his
goodbyes for the night.
Even though some citizens only got to see one or two City Workers, I really
thought that this was a great, successful Meet the Makers event. I can't wait
till the next one!
This is FairyKiya, signing off.
