As you all know, I'm a true adventurer at heart, so when I read the Whyville Times
last week and was challenged to discover the location of that bleak view shown
below, I tell you I nearly wore down my hiking boots trying to track it down!
Well, as it turned out, (and I sure wish someone had told me this before I
gave myself all these blisters), it's not a place you get to by walking.
As discovered by those of you who observed the Halloween tradition and went
trick-or-treating at Dr. Leila's, this dark realm is entered only if you dare to
partake of Dr. Leila's magic Halloween candy.
But eat it at your own risk! Because once you are in the land of Hauntington House,
you will have to discover for yourself the way out. As soon as you step through into this
haunted realm, everything is different, and even our trusty bus driver is not quite
himself any more. You won't be able to rely on him to transport you to safety.
But what is life without adventure? So if you haven't braved the Hauntington House
yet, hurry up and go grab some of the leftover Halloween candy at Dr. Leila's. It's
still there, but it won't stay there much longer! As for those of you who've visited
already, did you uncover all of the House's dreadful secrets? Here's a list
of hidden horrors for you to discover:
- Hallway
- The spider moves.
- The spider web spells a word.
- The eyes in the painting above the fireplace move.
- There are blinking monster eyes.
- Dining Room
- There is a green ghost.
- The worms wriggle.
- The head on the plate does something.
- The head on the plate looks at you if you sit somewhere special.
- You see your reflection in the mirror if you sit in the right place.
- There is a hidden exit back into the hall.
- There is a hidden exit back to the real world outside Dr. Leila's.
- Stairs - how many flights are there?
- Dark Room
- How many different pairs of monster eyes are in this room?
- Some eyes take you back to the hall.
- There is a secret way to return to the real world from this room.
Best of luck to you...You'll need it.
