Hello fellow Whyvillians! Here are a few of my ideas that I would try to accomplish
if I was to become the next senator. If I am to be elected, I will try to make
Whyville more fun for everyone, more safe, and enjoyable. I separated them into
sections, so it would be less confusing and easier to read:
-
The Walkie-Talkie
-
You know on your bus, how it has (on the top of it) a newspaper, a
red book bag (known as the satchel), a map, and a walkie-talkie? I think
that the walkie-talkie, especially, should have some animation to it.
Maybe it shouldn't blink, but if you receive new mail, the end of
the antennae should turn a different color, so you will know when you
receive your mail without always checking your mail all of the time. I
believe that a lot of people will find this not only fun, but very useful.
-
I think that Whyville should save other important mail with the section
where it has all the mail sent from City Hall. Other mail should be saved,
such as trading messages (who you traded to and what-for). Many people
who hack use the trading post now, because when someone gets their account
back, they will not know who their stuff went to because the Trading messages
aren't saved after you delete them from your inbox. With this new
feature, we will be able to crack down on hackers by tracing them more
efficiently.
-
Plot Rules
-
I'm sure a lot of people agree with me on this one. It is so hard
to get a plot! And so confusing! It took me a while to understand the
concept of it myself. I think buying a plot is really fun, and especially
decorating your rooms. I had two ideas about plots. One idea was that
the Land Office should be open more days than just Saturday at 2PM. This
may be hard for Whyville to do, since the server seems to have issues
at times, so I also thought that another solution would be that WhyPass
users, when they pay to get a WhyPass, should automatically get a plot.
-
Another idea, to save more room, should be that we could have apartments.
I know that this was already brought up to Whyville, but I just wanted
to stress how nice it would be if we had more apartments rather than all
houses. The apartments could all be in one building, and each person could
have about one room, or something along those lines. They would be smaller
than the houses, and they could be shared by multiple people as well,
which could save more server space.
-
Face Part Making/Akbar's Face Mall
-
The rules for face part making, I believe, are a bit drastic in some
cases. When someone gets their WhyPass, one of the reasons was probably
because they could make face parts. Lately, the rules for making face
parts are changing. Here are some of the reasons a face part might be
rejected by Akbar:
-
The opening to the hair is too small. The opening of girl's
hairs, for example, should be a little smaller than what Akbar accepts
at the moment. For me, I put about 2-3 hairs together to make the
opening less large. The opening should be about the size of hairs
such as "Tinka Belle" by CrucifyMe, "UnAfFeCtEd By"
by boras, or "s.o.u.l.m.a.t.e :)" by sUPAgURLe. Therefore,
there will be more girl hairs that get accepted, meaning more variety.
-
The shirt is too long, or past the "solar plexus". It
would be very nice if the shirts came down longer than they are allowed
to be at the moment. Some examples of shirts that are smaller would
be "customized" by ducky464, and "forgotten" by
sHaTter3d. Some longer shirts are shirts like "*a girlyleo hot
top w/ straps:p" by girlyleo and "bLUe sTAr sHIRt"
by 2sweetz. A lot of people wear the longer shirts, that if someone
made today, Akbar would not accept. When you wear really long hair,
some people want their shirt to go to the length of their hair, and
the short shirts do not accomplish that.
-
Copyright rules (no more elmo, etc) and band names (like Green
Day, Simple Plan). I understand why copyrights can be an issue, but
I don't understand why band names will not be accepted. Maybe
Akbar could start accepting more band names, so Whyvillians can express
their musical interests.
-
Hands. I tried making rock hands, and they didn't accept them.
Akbar said that they were inappropriate. Maybe Akbar could be a little
more flexible with this rule, because he accepts hands like the "Girly
Arms" and the hands in prayer.
I am sure Akbar has great reasoning behind these new rules. Akbar is very
lenient and under a lot of stress already, but I just feel that Akbar
should be a little more flexible with the new parts.
-
Akbar's Face Mall should have a search where you can type in a
username of any person in Whyville, and it will list all the stores owned
by the person, or a store where that person has parts in. This will make
it much easier for citizens to find certain stores, and they wouldn't
have to y-mail the actual person asking them what their store is called,
which will save a lot of hassle.
-
There should be Animated Z's and Food Animated Parts. I have gotten
this idea through a y-mail from somebody else, and I thought it was a
good idea. I think it would be very fun if you could say "sleep"
or something like that, and then you would see animated Z's coming
from your cartoon. Also, you could have funny food animated parts, such
as eating ice cream, hamburger, etc. I think these animated parts will
just spice up the already interesting world of Whyville.
-
Akbar is always under severe stress. What if Akbar could get some help?
Just like Whyville has safety patrol, Whyville could also elect people
to help apply/reject face parts. Parts would be in the new part section
faster.
-
In Akbar's Face Mall, the new "New Arrivals" link should
also have in parenthesis how many new parts there are, and when you are
going through pages of parts in the Mall, it should tell you what page
you are on (for example, page 14 out of 16 pages).
-
WhyPass holders
I don't personally own a WhyPass myself, but many of my friends own
one. They always tell me that WhyPass users should get this and that, so
I will list a few ideas of what WhyPass users should get when they become
lifetime/monthly WhyPass users.
-
More than 500 parts to hold. I know that it is VERY easy to go over
that limit, especially when none of your parts expire! It is very hard
to part with your parts.
-
When you pick your nose, your look should change automatically instead
of 20 minutes later.
-
Friend Finder tool. Once again, this was already brought up; I just
want to make sure that it gets done. I think this is a great idea for
you to find a friend, because there are so many chat rooms that they
could be in, and it is an easy way to see if one of your friends in
online/offline.
-
Pick Your Nose
-
In your list on the right side of Pick Your Nose, instead of not showing
the parts that you are wearing, they should either be in a separate list,
or should be shown in the regular list, but highlighted in a different
color. It would be much easier to find out what parts you are wearing
currently. Also, if you click one of the highlighted face parts, it could
automatically come off instead of moving all of your face parts around
on your face trying to take just one face part off of your face. This
feature would just save some hassle.
-
When you buy your face parts, you should be able to organize them into
groups. The groups separated by hairs, eyes, lips, earrings, shirts, signs,
etc. This would be much easier for people to find certain face parts instead
of searching through your huge list of face parts in Pick Your Nose trying
to remember the name of the part, for example.
-
Trading
When you trade for a part, it should tell you how many days are on it. Sometimes,
people can trade you a part when it has only a few days on it, and it isn't
fair if you pay lots of clams for a part that expires in a few days.
-
Miscellaneous
1. Clam grams should go up higher than 50, maybe to 100, or 200. Usually when
people send clam grams, they have to send more than one because they want
to send more than 50.
2. You should be able to send more than one part at once. Maybe you should
be able to send up to three parts at once, with a transfer fee of 5 clams.
3. There should be Chess as a game to play, along with the popular games of
Checkers, Kalah, Getty Artsets, etc. Chess is a very thoughtful and great
game to play with someone, and I think that it will be very popular if you
could play it on Whyville. Maybe, for other games (either in the satchel for
clams or just for fun) we can cover more science related matters like Agriculture,
Chemisty, Astrology, Biology, the Environment.. jee... The list could go on!
4. There should be more competitions in Whyville, such as drawing competitions,
original poem competitions, and joke competitions! There are many creative
people in Whyville that would love this idea.
5. There should be Discussions in the Petitions in City Hall. I think that
will attract more people to the petitions. After the petition description,
there should be a "Discuss this petition" link, similar to the links
found in the Whytimes. If someone has a quick question or idea to address
to the author of the petition that he would like to ask publicly, or a comment
to anyone reading the platform, it could be discussed here.
6. For your Disco parties, you should get a message on your Welcome Page the
day that it is, and what time it is. I was thinking that there should be a
little box on the screen, with dates and times of your Disco parties, and
who is hosting them as well.
7. I think there should be a bank, where Whyvillians can deposit money, and
collect investment. This would be great, and very educational. It can prepare
you for when you get older and have a bank account of your own, and you will
learn how to manage money well.
Thank you for listening to my ideas, and please tell me what you think of them!
Vote for babeeroxy for Whyville's next senator!
Hello Whyville Citizens! As you may already know, my name is
Allie. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I have been an active whyville
citizen ever since Sunday Dec 28, 2003 and earn 110 clams a day. I am fourteen
years old and I live in Maryland, located on the east coast of the United States.
~~~~I have many reasons why you should vote for me. Ever since I started here
on whyville, I have noticed that some things could be changed for the better.
I will state a few here. ((1)) Plots. It is so hard to get a plot! And so confusing!
It took me a while to actually find out how to get a plot myself. Maybe, if
plots were easier to get (open more days than just Saturday at a certain time)
then more people will get houses. Okay next subject ((2)) Face part rules. I
make face parts, and so does a lot of other people I know. I know that it is
very aggrivating when you make a part you spend so much time on, and find out
it gets turned down. Here are some reasons I have been turned down... -1- The
Opening to the head is too small -2- The shirt is too long (showing too much
body, going too far down, going past the "solar plexus" -3- Copyright
rules (no more elmo, etc. -4- Band names (like simple plan.. =D) -5- Certain
hands don't get accepted.. ETC! This list could go on! If I become senator,
I promise to voice our concerns to the Whyville Staff. I feel that some of these
current rules could be "altered". ((3)) I don't know if PUNKnPIE is
already doing this, but I think that we should have more colors on the color
wheel for making face parts. For example.. more shades of all the colors. Another
idea..((4)) In abkar, you also should be able to search a Whyville username
in the store section and find their store. ((5)) I also think that WHYPASS HOLDERS
should have more perks. Personally I don't have a whypass, but I know people
who do, and they tell me about the problems they face with them. Most whypass
holders love the fact that they have non-expiring parts, and most of their parts
eventually become very attatched to all their parts. Trust me, it is very easy
to reach that 500 limit of face parts you can have. I think that Whypass holders
should be able to hold more face parts. This will be great, and it would definately
bring more people into buying whypasses I think! Also, whypass users should
be able to have other perks as well. I think that when they go into "Pick
Your Nose" and change their look, that it should change automatically.
I also think that Whypass users should be able to use that friend finder thing,
which I haven't seen up and running in Whyville yet.. ((6)) More games in the
satchel! So many people Y-mail me asking me how I got my salary so high! When
I try to help them out on the games, they say certain games don't work! I think
that this should be fixed by either fixing the current games, or replacing them
with new games. I think it would be much more fun with more games! Educational,
of course. Maybe we can cover more science related matters like Agriculture,
Chemisty, Astrology, Biology, the Environment.. jee... The list could go on!
Anyway.. ((7)) Another idea is one for the Disco. I think there should be a
popup on the welcome screen to days when you are having a Disco Party. Most
people forget about the party when the day actually comes. Pretty sad, when
you pay 1000 Clams just to join the Why Club! ((8)) I think that when you pick
your nose, it should also show the parts you are currently wearing. If I want
to check what the name of something I am wearing is, it is hard to take it off
then search through the whole list of parts you own trying to find it. I think
that when the face parts you are wearing are being used, they should be highlighted
on the list to the right side when you are in Pick Your Nose. ~~~~~**~~~~ So,
these are just a few ideas of what I am thinking of right now. Please vote for
me and I hope you enjoyed reading my petition!! If you agree with my ideas,
then VOTE FOR BABEEROXY! Luv yall, Allie
is one thing. Attacking is another, so please understand the difference. Overly
nasty posts can be 911-reported.
Rule number two: Stick with the candidate the BBS is about.
Don't rave about your favorite candidate in someone else's BBS, please. Don't
diss another candidate, either.
That's all! Now, let's get political!
