How do you write good comics? You don't need to be an artist. You don't need to have amazing ideas! All you need is a brain and life... and I know you have at least one of those!

First: Find a funny story that happened to you (pranks, class, pets).

Second: Brainstorm the order of your story and the dialogue. Make it funny or cool!

Thirdly: Put it on paper!

  • Draw your characters. (If you aren't an artist, just draw stick figures, or paste in photos.)

  • Make word bubbles or lines to show who is talking.

  • Write in the dialogue.

  • Put in the color.

  • Add final details for it.

  • Finally show it to your friends!

I made a comic about my dog and hamster, it is called "Pumpkin's World!"

Here are a few ways to get your comics around:

  • School paper

  • Websites (Maybe even Whyville! Times Editor, is that allowed?)

  • Note passing (don't do it a bad times)

  • Word of mouth

And here's a couple of character ideas:

  • Friends

  • Animals

  • School

  • Adults

Remember not to turn someone you know into a character that is exactly them if they do not approve. (Keep those to yourself.)

I'm off to do a Pumpkin's World comic!
