I am in the middle of a swarm of bees
I can't find the light out of the forest of trees
I am a blade of grass on the vast ground
I am not heard in all of this sound
I am a feather, a bird
I am a voice that can't be heard

I am a person in prison for life
Behind bars and filled with strife
I am a hamster in its cage
Wanting to bust out with rage
I am a person locked in doubt
There is no key to get out

I am an egg in a nest
I blend in with all the rest
I am a grain of sand
Very plain and very bland
I am a zebra on an African plain
I want to be different but my stripes keep me the same

I want to be heard
I want to get out
I want to be different
You hear me shout
