Dear Whyvillians,
I never REALLY liked the idea of Senator in the first place,
but now I see many others starting to despise this whole Senate Race thing.
It seems to plague Whyville every now and then with bribery, cheating, fights...
the list of completely unnecessary actions goes on and on, and it's all because
of the Senate Race.
Are hundreds, possibly thousands of citizens' friendships to
be broken so that ONE Whyville citizen can have the glory of being Senator for
a couple months? This simply does not seem just to me!
You would think after eight elections, Whyvillians would be
able to control their behavior and act civilized. Apparently we can't.
It's depressing to think that we can't get along for two weeks
while the first part of the election lasts. The sad truth is, we can't handle
this thing without bickering amongst ourselves.
I for one do not believe that all the trouble we go through
is worth it. The very concept of the the Senate is corrupting Whyville, and
after eight elections (soon to be nine), I think I'm going to burst.
Even after the few weeks it lasts, people keep talking about
it, saying things like, "She shouldn't have won, she doesn't know what
she's doing." It's so gossipy and cheap.
I think after this election there should be no more Senators.
I guess it would only be fair if we took a poll, but then again, people might
cheat. After all, everyone is selfish and wants to have the title of Senator
for themselves.
Just something to ponder on,
ecnad
