As we all know, running for Senate is really fun, even if you
don't make it to the final round, now known as the General Election.
Why ruin all this excitement? Well, that's what I think is
happening with the changes being made to create this "Primary."
This issue, in my opinion, is a very big deal. You now have
to pay 500 clams and be a citizen for 90 days just to have a Senate Platform.
That's not a good idea.
Why should we have this? Five hundred clams just to put up a platform? I mean,
come on! I know a ton of people always run for Senate, but will this really
solve anything? It will just make us Whyvillians angry.
You don't have to be rich, or be a Whyvillian for 90 days to be a great senator.
I think that we NEED to get rid of the 500 clams and 90 days ASAP!
Thank you.
Until next time...

Editor's Note: While THEzUSEDz expresses these concerns, the
BBS connected to last week's announcement was filled with supportive praise and cries of
joy at City Hall's decision to make the Senate race more organized and realistic.
Most of our past races were pretty chaotic, which so many platforms it was impossible
for all but the most dedicated citizens to read through every one of them. How
can you have a democracy if no one can truly know who's running for office?
The new rules for the first stage of the election, now called a Primary,
have resulted in a much more reasonable number of platforms. And those platforms
have been made by citizens with a clear understanding of Whyville and how they
feel they can help our community.
No more will the Senate Race be blocked up with dozens of one-line "platforms"
offering to raise everyone's salaries to "A MILLION CLAMS". No more
will platforms be 911-reported without cause.
Everyone who runs gets their fair shot. I'd say that's a good thing.
