City Hall, Akbar, Mark, ScyllaCat, Turnip, MediaWiz, Neutral, GumbyTam, Jen
and Bigfoot.
What do those names have in common? They're all Whyville City Workers of course!
You've probably heard of most, if not all, of the names above. They're fairly
popular CWs. Ones that do trivia, design face parts, write articles, show up
for Meet the Makers, or are just plain known around our lovely town.
But did you know there are MORE? Yes, MORE! I refer to them as "Lost CWs".
There are CWs who I've discovered one way or another, but they're just never
around! Here, check this out...
Name: McBean
How I found out about her: She rents a space in Turnip's house.
Rating: I'll betcha (unless your a Veteran citizen maybe) you've never
heard this name in your entire life.
Name: HumHumOne
How I found out about her: Her name was listed in the Times staff.
Rating: I'll betcha (unless you really really snoop through the Times),
you've never heard this name either.
Name: Calliope
How I found out about her: She wrote an article once, as I discovered while reading old Times
issues.
Rating: You might've heard of her. Maybe even met her, I dunno.
Name: Cyranojoe
How I found out about him: He wrote a lot of Times articles.
Rating: You've probably heard this name. I'd be surprised if you didn't.
There you have it. Four "lost" CWs. The creepiest thing is, if you
read the dates on their Records... Most of them have visited recently!
Can you clear this up for me a bit, Mr. Editor???
This is Kimker, signing off.
Author's Note: I used to classify Superid as a lost CW, but he made
a surprise appearance in the Greek Theater on October, as I read in the article
"A Reporter In Whyville".
Editor's Note: Great investigations! McBean was really around
to encourage citizens to explore the GeoDig when it first came out. When was
the last time you tried out the Dig with your friends?
HumHumOne is an occasional writer for the Times, like the MediaWiz. She's
a kind of journalist in real life, also like the MediaWiz!
Calliope joined us for a little while, and she was really interested in
engaging citizens in intelligent discussions about good books. She started the
Critique Club, in which folks would get together to talk about literature and
analyze classic novels. It was a stellar summer activity for the people who
wanted to keep their English and reading skills sharp! She comes around every
once in a while, and has thought about starting up the Club again when she has
time.
And Cyranojoe is an old "friend" of mine, and of Bigfoot. You
could say we hung out a lot, and still do. The "cyranojoe" name is
actually his unofficial trademark, actually. Weird, huh?
