Who's Who in Whyville

Hi everyone -- I just want to give you a list of people with official titles in Whyville. If it's a bit boring for you folks in oldbieville, sorry, but bear with me. Maybe you'll find something new.

City Workers:
Job: These are the adults who run Whyville. You can identify them by if they wear a red beanie with a blue propeller and yellow letters saying "CW". These are ONLY the ones who usually visit Whyville. There are probably a lot who work outside Whyville.

Akbar - Designer and in charge of the Face Factory and Face Mall (brother named Grenouille).
Neutral - Programmer and former host of Trivia Hour.
Mark - Chief programmer, one of the founders of Whyville.
MediaWiz - Media Writer and host of Media Hour.
GumbyTam - Designer.
Superid - One of the founders of Whyville, went to the first live Why Meeting.
Jen - One of the founders of Whyville.
Turnip - Designer, one of the founders of Whyville.
HumHumOne
Cyranoejoe
ScyllaCat - Helps run the Why-Helper system
Bigfoot - Helps run the Senate Races. Also a Times Staff Writer.
Calliope - Is currently not on Whyville.
City Hall - The Big Boss. In charge of Whyville.
Facchione - "The Whyville Ghost" -- this is a few CWs on one account.

Note: I think that "Rollergirl" "Origami" and "Marty B." are City Workers, but aren't around much.

Y-Mail Helpers:
Job: These kind citizens volunteer to help Whyvillians with their problems, through Y-mail and at the Newbie Center. Some have been in Whyville for years.

Times Writers
Job: If you are a good, regular writer for the Times, the Editor changes the phrase under your byline from Guest Writer to Times Writer. Being "regular" doesn't mean you submit one article and then a month later you submit another on the same subject. To be a Times Writer, you have to write good stuff regularly, on a variety of subjects -- and of course, you have to get published.

This is by far the longest list. I'm putting ya down if on your latest article you had "Times Writer" under your face. Because of this, I did have a problem with some of the REALLY REALLY old writers (1999-2000).

MediaWiz (previously MediaMaven) - He runs Media Hour and is the "Times Media Writer".

Times Staff - Lois Lee, Bigfoot, Times Editor. They help with the running of the Times..

Whyology 2005 staff - Themis, Dfeldon, Katyakit, NoleeDoll. Staff for Whyology 2005, they help run meetings as well as take part in the study of Whyville.

Getty Staff - JoliFanta. In league with Getty Museum

Dr. Leila - Resident thinker and cool scientist. She's the scientist who owns Dr. Leila's house. She's a real person and has written some articles for the Times long, long ago.

Times Summer Staff (not applicable any more, BUT...) - TIKE, Giggler01, Wildfire9. There was a contest to be a Summer Staff writer for the Times. The winners received special acclaim and were asked to send in special Times articles.


Thank you for reading this list! Please note that a lot of these people will hate you if you just Y-mail them and go "Oh my god, you're famous!" So please don't. Also, a lot of them, especially the Times Writers, have upped and left our town -- we all grow up, you know.
