Introduction: The following is my journal based on seven days of having WhyPox. I wrote one block of text for each day until I got over the disease. I hope this explains what WhyPox is like to those of you who have never had it, as well as entertains those of you who have had it. I did not use, nor attempt to obtain, any vials in my seven-day experience.

This is an overall report on Whyville's currently only known disease: WhyPox.

Day One: Just like that, I have WhyPox. Again. I've had it before. It was about a year ago, when I first signed up for Whyville. I had assumed that if I had it once, I'd never have it again, like chicken pox in real life. However, here I am again, different Pox, same symptoms. The sneezing doesn't bother me yet. It seems as if everyone is sneezing with me, so I don't feel like the others around me will be disgusted.

Day Two: The repetitious sneezing continues throughout the day. They still haven't managed to get on my nerves though. Only one of my sentences is cut off by an "Achoo." The count of Whyvillians around me with the infectious disease increases gradually as the day goes on. Suddenly, those familiar pimple-like rashes appear. They are small, light pink... noticeable. I purchase a werewolf costume to cover my entire face. I'd rather look like a monster than a freak. I noticed almost all of the Y-mail helpers have the pimples, but not too many of the citizens have them yet. I continue roaming the night, disguised as a werewolf.

Day Three: My sneezing is getting out of hand. I have to rewrite my sentences about three times before they can be understood; Even then, they are replaced with an "Achoo" within a matter of seconds. Oh well. I find other things to do with my time besides chatting. I read that Grandma hasn't been getting donations and the spirit of Whyville is dying, so I donate a ton of unused bricks, furniture and face parts. I felt hesitant at first to give away some of the stuff I did, but then afterwards I realized how much I don't need all of it. I actually felt relieved and forgot all about the WhyPox. I don't feel out of place with this disease. As a matter of fact, if I didn't have the Pox, I'd feel out of place. The pimply faces around me multiply. When the sneezing calms down, it's nice to have conversations with others you can now relate to.

Day Four: I take off my werewolf costume to check on my appearance. The pimples have grown to a larger size. I think they may even be a darker pink. No use worrying about it. I put the costume back on. My sneezing is out of control, so I don't even try to chat. Instead, I amuse myself by posing with the bots and taking pictures. I manage to get nine amusing pictures of a werewolf posing in front of and next to bots.

Day Five: None of the Y-mail helpers have WhyPox anymore. My pimples are still a light shade of pink, but are getting worse. Some citizens have moved onto the very large, dark red, disgusting stage. The CDC's "Citizens With WhyPox" chart shows that, after a booming increase in infected citizens, the WhyPox is slowing down.

Day Six: My pimples have actually gotten better, rather than getting worse and red. I took off the werewolf costume for good, and donated it to Grandma, along with other unused face parts. According to the CDC, there was a 1,271 drop in WhyPox infections today.

Day Seven: I spend the day at Akbar's, buying all sorts of face parts. Suddenly (just as suddenly as they appeared) my WhyPox are gone. Seven full days of a Whyville adventure in disease. It really flew by though, I'll tell you that. Now, I sit here and wonder about all the theories the citizens of Whyville have about WhyPox. Does dressing warmer cure the WhyPox sooner? How does WhyPox transfer from one person to another? So on and so on.

Conclusion: What good does this log do? Well, hopefully it was entertaining, at least. Also, a theory could be made that WhyPox is indeed contagious through Y-mail, seeing that all the helpers had WhyPox at the same time [bottom of day two]. You see, the Y-mail helpers probably receive the most mail in Whyville. So, naturally, they'd be infected by all the people sending them mail.

However, this theory could be thrown right out the window with a counter-argument saying that City Hall gave all the best-known citizens WhyPox first, or at the same time.

Anyway, we can make all sorts of theories based this log. Another could be that wearing a werewolf costume will prevent you from going into the red-pimple stage, since I didn't seem to get into it, or missed it altogether. All right, so some theories will be more farfetched than others, but you get the idea.

It's been fun,
