Whyville has a brand new ad system! Yes, our town now has a great new way to grow and get better for everybody, and these advertisers actually want to show you ads about stuff you care about.

So, if you weren't too excited about "Butt Boards" (funky snowboarders' padding) or the science activity packets that you might have seen in ads gone by over the last few years, we hope you'll approve of our new system.

The service providing us these ads is called Revenue Science. They deliver ads based on the audience, which as I said means that the new advertisements should be more interesting and relevant to our citizens.

Now, do you know what "pay per click" means? For every ad that a citizen clicks on -- whether you're shopping for cool stuff or just checking out their website -- Whyville earns a small amount of money. Over time, a lot of clicks adds up to a lot of support for your favorite online community!

We want you to know, clicking will take you outside of Whyville. We have to tell you this, so you understand that we don't have control over the content or the security of such websites. We're pretty confident they'll be okay, but always always always be careful with your personal info and everything. If you have any worries about these websites, ask your parents and/or email City-Management at Whyville.net.

To make these ads fit in to Whyville a little better, the city managers designed a new frame to go around the ads -- they should look pretty good, we hope!

Got an opinion about the ads? Think about how valuable they are to our town, helping us improve the games and grow our community. Consider the pros and cons very carefully. Then go to the Welcome Page poll and share your thoughts with us! You can also email City-Management at Whyville.net.

Thanks for supporting Whyville!
