Dear Whyvillians,
I'd like to take a moment to give you some important information about two new things that are now available on Whyville. First, we have the addition of our very own "general store" called Ymart. This is a place where you can go to buy real products for all of your consumer needs.
Ymart is powered by Amazon.com. This means that you can expect everything from Ymart that you would expect from Amazon. You have all of the great products to choose from, the security of knowing your purchase is safe, and the service that you can expect from such an excellent dealer.
So, why make a purchase through Ymart instead of just going directly to Amazon.com? Because, Whyville makes a small commission from every purchase made through Ymart. By supporting Whyville with your purchases, you will be helping us fund new games, and special features we are excited to add.
As a Whyvillian, you also have the pleasure of recommending products to your fellow Whyvillians. In addition, if there is something that you want that you cannot find on Ymart, then all you have to do is click the link "Shop All Amazon.com." By doing this, you can get what you want, and Whyville will still make a small commission.
The second new feature on Whyville is the game Spitzer Spectrum. It is located in the Spectroscopy Lab where you can learn all about wavelengths and spectrometers. Then, you can put your knowledge to the test with the Spitzer Spectrum game.
The game asks you a series of questions pertaining to spectroscopy. Each answer corresponds to a region on the Electromagnetic Spectrum. You have two minutes to answer the five questions. Be careful, if you get a question wrong, five seconds will be deducted from the timer. If you get all of the answers correct within the time limit you will earn clams! You can win up to four more clams onto your daily salary.
So remember, go check out our very own Ymart to purchase anything you desire, and play the new Spitzer Spectrum game to learn and earn more clams.
Happy Spending and Learning!
