"Music makes the people come together. . ." Ever heard that song? Madonna sings it, and that's a quote from one of her songs. It's true. Music does make people come together. Haven't you ever made a friend because you both have similar, if not the same, musical taste? If not, haven't you seen it happen? Music does do a lot for us, not just making friends, but with thinking.

A lot of times, music helps us think. For instance, whenever I write an article for the Whyville Times, I am always listening to music. Like right now. I am listening to "On My Own," by The Used. It helps me think. I gain more and more concentration with my work.

Whenever I am doing any type of schoolwork, writing an article. . .etc., I always listen to music. It helps me. Even sometimes the lyrics help me and give me a new idea for an article, or even anything. The mood of the article could depend on what I am listening too. It's an interesting thing actually.

Music also relaxes you. When you are frustrated or just tired, I always listen to music. It helps me out. It makes my mood better, and I am not so mad anymore. Notice how cars have radios in them, as well as CD players, and tape players. Scientists have proven that music helps people concentrate on their driving, and helps them relax more.

Writing music helps you too. You can get out feelings for a person, heartbreak, sadness, happiness, being alone, or feeling like you're being watched! Whatever you write about, it helps you calm down. It's also fun to write music. It also helps people make money! But nonetheless, it's fun.

Music also has an effect on birth. Scientists have also proven that when you are pregnant, what music you listen to affects your child. Like, if you put headphones up to your stomach when you are pregnant, and let your baby listen to music, it can affect his or her personality, what music he or she likes, or can even make him or her smarter when he or she is older! ;)

Music is a great thing. Whatever type you listen to, whatever kind you write, whatever it's about. And it also makes you think about what the writer of the music was thinking when they wrote the song, or what the song is about.

So listen to your music. . .
