When you're feeling like the rain will never let up,
And the clouds will never again part to make way
For a brilliant shining sun you once knew and the night,
The night will never again turn into the skylight of the day,

Day. . .When you remember it so well and you wonder where it went,
When you're wondering how and when this life went so wrong,
What kind of fork in the road you took, can you retrace your steps,
And when the wind is howling and the lightning flashes and the rain's
still coming down strong,

When you're cursing yourself for you don't even know what and begging
For some kind of clock that ticks backwards, that can rewind, start again,
New, fresh like a rose after an April storm,
And you're sure you can never live up to the expectations of other men.

Well, keep pressing on, through the hail and the fog
Even through the bitter coldness of the winter snow
And don't give up when no one else shares their warm fire with you,
Light your own flame and keep pressing on. I've been there. I know.

And don't stop trying to find another trail when you've lost your own path,
And even if you can't make out the road maps or the signs on the highway,
And even if there's no one else around whose headlights you can follow
Through the night, just until you can see the purple-orange of dawn
starting a brand new day,

Even if you're not sure where you're headed or how you're going
to get there,
You're still going to get there, keep pressing on, and believe me when I say:
You are not as alone as you think you are, and all the rain's eventually
going to clear,
And you need to keep pressing on, when all hope is lost, there's still
hope. You're going to be okay.
