How Chocolate Saved Whyville

My friends and I had no clue that Whyville would actually blackout. I mean, there were a few rumors going around, but we were skeptical. On the first day of the Blackout, we went to walk down to the Square, not thinking that anything bad would happen. Boy, were we wrong.

When we got there, everything was pitch black, and we heard this eerie howling noise. There were no animals in Whyville, so we wondered what it could be. So then we decided to try to investigate. The sound was coming from the Warp Wagon. Then we slowly and carefully started to go over in that direction.

When we finally reached the Warp Wagon, we didn't believe what we saw; an extremely tall man in a white labcoat with two howling alien-like creatures next to him. He said, "Overr nda Owserb, tops owlingh own!"

Then he said, "Oh...Hello. My name is Dr. Buncinburger. I am a time traveler from the 31st century. Is this the year 2001? I hope it is, then my machine works! Sorry these two creatures mgiht have scared you, they are just a species of animals from the planet Igp Atinl. On that planet, they only speak in pig latin. I just told Rover and Bowser to stop howling."

"So let me get this straight," I said. "You are saying that you have come here in a time machine, from the 31st century? And to answer your question, yes, it is 2001. But still, why in the world are you here, and why is it pitch black?"

"Well, I am here because I need to find some crucial information about how to make chocolate."

"Chocolate?" I said, "Why do you need to know about chocolate?"

"That might just be the cure for a horrible epidemic that is striking our planet in my time. I need to know how to make it, and where to get it. You see, back in my time, there aren't any more trees on this planet."

I said, "OK. I know how to make chocolate, but first tell me why it is dark here."

He then said, "I had to find a way to get somebody's attention, plus, when someone helps me, I don't want our enemy planet to find out the information, because then they can use that against us."

"Alright, I understand now. So all I have to do is help you make chocolate, right?"

"Yes, but the only problem is that I need enough to give to one million people," he stated.

"That will be a problem. I think we should start right now," I said. Then I told my two of my friends, Espo and Horseygrl, to go out and get as much cocoa beans, cocoa butter, and meltable chocolate as they could.

So they did, and Dr. Buncinburger and I made all of the chocolate that he needed.

And that is what happened and why Whyville was blacked-out for that amount of time, but because of it, we saved a generation of people.
