If I were a part of Canada, what part would I be?
Maybe I would be the coast, so I'd always be near the sea.
The fishermen would leave each morning and later they would return,
The fish would be for their families, who'd put it on the fire to burn.

I could also be the snowy peak of the most impressive mountain,
Mist would pile over me as if I were a fountain.
I would be such a beautiful sight, and people would adore,
All the pictures they would take of me, they'd want to come back for more.

But what if I was a pine tree, in a forest among the land,
Animals might live on me just as I had planned.
I just pray I wouldn't be chopped to be used as wood,
Because for me that really wouldn't be so good.

I also want to be a hill so I could roll on and on,
Only when the prairies come then I would be gone.
I would always get a clear view of geese flying high,
And also of the human city that clearly sits near by.

If I were a part of Canada, what part would I be?
I truly couldn't pick just one, because one isn't enough for me.
Canada is a beautiful place; I want to be it all,
To be the small, forgotten things and the things that are roaring and tall.
