Over the last week there was a lot of controversy over the first ever "Whyvillian in the Spotlight." During this time a question came up in my mind, "Why do we nominate a certain person?"

Do you nominate the person because they are generally a good citizen? Are we going to treat the WITS (Whyvillian in the Spotlight) as we treated the Good Citizen of the Month? Is it going to be someone who hasn't had any punishments in their Why-Life? Or should it be someone who helps newbies constantly and is a real asset in Whyville? This is one way we could treat it.

There are so many people out there with interesting stories to tell. To dig out things in my life could make a novel. There are Whyvillians I could nominate such as Giggler01, a legend in Whyville. She does not hang out on Whyville 24/7, but her story on Whyville and what she's done for it is amazing, and she still manages to be an extremely friendly person. Britmaria, TIKE, Etrnl *, even retired CW Bigfoot could come in here!

Then there are scammers such as Flower, the very first known scammer in Whyville. She isn't a good citizen, nor is she a current citizen, but think how interesting it would be to have an article on her. SkUmBaG68, how I hate and love you! You are the scammer who made Whyvillians sit up. You were the writer who was so devious with words that everyone took notice.

But what about other people? There could be people who have just signed up for Whyville who have just made their way onto the Junior British Athletics team or just won an American nation-wide poetry competition. Why, I bet there are people here who have lived in places where they can only just get the internet and/or Whyville because of how cold it is where they live. Do you know someone like this? Then you should nominate them!

The point of this article is that I don't think we should take the most popular person of the day or the richest and give them the award. I don't think we should nominate ourselves for fun. I am of the opinion that we nominate people who have a story to tell, or who does something different. We should nominate someone who gave their entire life savings to a newbie because they did something good for them. It should be someone who made a difference, good or bad to Whyville. Someone interesting . . . You can understand what I'm talking about.

But, for now,
This is Cobd . . .
