I always see posts and articles about stopping online dating. Everyone says you shouldn't online date because in real-life the person you are dating could be a 40 year-old sick-o, or whoever online dates can't get a real date in real life. I agree with the part where your date could be a 40 year-old sick-o, but I disagree with the idea that these people can't get dates in real life. Why? Because it's the same as online friends!

I'm sure many of you have an online friend who you have never met. But maybe they could be a 40 year-old sick-o. Ever thought of that? And when you make online friends, does that mean you can't make a friend in real life? I dont think so!

It's fun to meet people from across the globe and be their friend. So why not pretend to date them? I usually don't date online but it can be pretty fun! I have made so many friends online, but are they really who they say they are? It is okay as long as you don't give out personal info and decide to meet offline. So before you say that online dating is dumb, think about some of the friends you made on Whyville who you have never met before.
