A not-so-old study shows how childrens' birth orders can reflect their personalities. If you don't get what I'm talking about, here's the birth order scale: first born, middle children, youngest, twins, and only children. All have different personalites, and of all the people I know, the Birth Order Theory actually relates to a huge chunk of them!
Here's the concept of the theory, according to several articles:
FIRST BORN:
-Feel the pressure to be perfect, or good at whatever they do.
-Often are amongst the smartest in the family.
-The younger children usually come for advice from them.
-Feel pressure from their parents to succeed.
-Have greater things expected from them.
MIDDLE CHILDREN:
-Often feel they don't receive enough attention.
YOUNGEST:
-Often are the funniest ones in the family.
-Receive the most attention.
-Act younger, or babyish sometimes.
TWINS:
-Often receive equal amounts of attention.
-Develop different personalities from one another.
-Envy the other twin in certain situations.
-Often feel as though the other twin is their best friend or are the closest to them.
ONLY CHILDREN:
-Most often get exactly what they want.
-Do not know how to share because they have no one to share with.
The Birth Order Theory may not relate to you. You might be the youngest child in your family, and be more mature than your older sibling.
However, most people DO relate to the the theory. I'm the oldest child in my family, and I do feel the pressure to be perfect, and to succeed. And my younger sister is the funny one in the family, and she does receive most of the attention from our parents.
This is The Chi, signing off.
